Timbarra Gold Mine Protest
The Timbarra blockade is a protest against an alluvial gold mine. It is situated about two and a half hours drive from Lismore. The heap leach pad has been constructed and blasting of the 50 hectare mine site is due to commence. An unbustable blockade is being constructed and numbers are needed. The base camp is situated in Girard State Forest. Travel to Casino, then west towards Tenterfield. Turn left 5 klms after Drake onto Bower Bird Rd and follow the signs to the base camp.
