Wren Redback Wren

Age 25

Wren has been savouring diversity, the spice of life for some 7 years. She is a pro-active environmentalist, gardener, musician, artist and gypsy nomad. She has been widely involved with different projects, campaigns, collectives and personal projects all geared to create change for the better. This ranges from nocturnal endangered species surveying to skill sharing with a street kids circus in Africa, to establishing a Native plant nursery to repair the damage done by her forefathers on the family farm to Humps NOT Dumps.

"I am openly exploring and trying to gain deeper understanding of humanities relationship with each other and the rest of the planet. The freedom I have gained to express myself and live my dreams has not been won without struggle. It has been a daily operation to overcome conditioning, barriers, and pressures from our society to come to a state of self acceptance, love and appreciation".

Wren's present focus is on learning wisdom from the elders and indigenous peoples who have a tradition of harmonious existence with their environment. She recently spent a long time travelling throughout the wide wonderful world spending as much time with tribal people of Asia, India and Africa as possible.

One of the realizations she has come to is that environmentally Australia is a relatively pristine sanctuary. Peoples in many other countries are feeling the brunt of the global ecological crisis directly. At this crucial point in time we should not be opening up Australia for nuclear exploitation. If this planet and people are to survive these crazy times we must change NOW and embrace sustainable alternatives.

Her love for camels has developed more recently after a rural childhood riding horses droving cattle and dreaming of taking off into the wilderness. She discovered their majestic charm and strength whilst hitchhiking around Rajistarn on Camel Carts. This sparked a deep passion for these prehistoric puppet like creatures. Her next dream is to build a wagon and create a Camel Cart Circus to put on eco-entertainment shows for rural and outback communities.
