We can offer 'acm' groups free training in any Internet area we know : Accessing information; HTML writing; Email exchange; conferencing, newsgroups; webchats; It's various known uses to various types of groups; why it's of any use at all; and anything else you can think of that we might know and be able to help you with - some groups have just required un-biased advice at the end of a phone.

Software has been purchased to enable 2 types of internet conferencing, both can be live or newsgroup style set-ups.

1. Public forums: on any subject there is interest in. A general 'acm' type area is being created now for general discussion and current issues. For anything else, name a topic and we can help you start it up.

2. Private forums: where any combinations of individuals and groups can meet to discuss topics, that are then scrambled and unviewable by anyone else.

We can create mailboxes and domain names for you, for example FOE (Friends of the Earth) can have several mailboxes: foodco-op@foe.com.au; forests@foe.com.au; uranium@foe.com.au etc.....

This makes the incoming mail to your account easier to sort for the various internals of your office. If you haven't got an email account at all, or even a computer, we can create you a mailbox anyway so you can receive mail from your page. Then we can forward it to you through fax, local bbs or even posting it once a week. This part of the deal will need you to cover costs, but we wont charge for service, only things like the 40 cent stamp per week if we have to post a letter - it's a very cheap way of being interactive on the net and receiving correspondence without even having access to a computer.

GreenNet provides access grants for 'acm' organisations. The standard package is $10 to join - then 10 - 15 hours free per week (or up to 10Meg) - with excess hours charged at $0.40 per hour/Meg.

A good inbetween service to the internet - as you can still recieve your email but it only costs the price of a local call. It's available to groups to store and send mail internally and between related groups, it has conferencing facilities and the ability for different people in different places to be working on the same thing. All this without having to pay on line internet costs, so for all the business that does not require the internet, this service is available for 30 cents per access in the 03 area, for up to 3 hours per day.
